Paul is a fully qualified accountant with more years’ experience than he cares to admit to. He is currently Finance and Procurement Manager for a Crown entity based in Wellington. He has also operated his own internet design company which provided services to clients both in New Zealand and internationally.
Paul has extensive governance experience in the “not for profit” sector, including senior positions in both Jaycees and Rotary, as well as being on the Board of Proprietors of St Oran’s College in Lower Hutt. He has been a convention director for a large national conference and provided conference support systems for a number of years to both the commercial and voluntary fields.
Paul has been interested in photography since school and university days when he processed film in the darkroom. The interest waned until the advent of digital SLR’s when he began to take it seriously again. In 2008 Paul completed a night school course before joining Wellington Photographic Society, before moving onto the Hutt Camera Club (HCC). During his time with HCC he has spent two years as President and the last three years as Treasurer. Paul was Treasurer for the very successful Central Regional PSNZ Convention in 2014.
Paul is currently in the training programme to become an accredited judge for PSNZ.
Paul believes that education is vital to the success of clubs and over the last six years has organised and run a number of photographic workshops, both for club members and the wider community. His primary focus is the genres that involve photographing people such as fashion, glamour and portraiture.
Paul is married to Vicky and has three children, and two grandchildren.
