Photographic Distinctions

The PSNZ Photographic Distinctions or letters, recognise different levels of photographic achievement.

LPSNZ

Licentiate is the entry level distinction. It recognises “proficiency of a high order in practical photography”.

APSNZ

Associate recognises “proficiency of a higher order” than that required for an ‘L’.

FPSNZ

Fellowships are awarded “in recognition of outstanding ability, with special regard to creativity, distinction and individuality.” The letters FPSNZ are intended to denote “one who stands in the front rank of photography”.
