Central Regional – Day 1

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Central Regional Convention opened tonight with a full house. Prior to the official opening there was a lovely supper provided and as people arrived you could see everyone catching up with folk they haven’t seen since the last regional event. Great food & wine!!

Housekeeping was announced like a flight safety message so we all know exactly where the exits are and they will light up in the event of an emergency. Sadly the Mayor was double booked so the event was opened by Peter Robertson – PSNZ President.

Next came the very interesting keynote speaker Professor Geoffrey Batchen and his talk on the exhibition  “Emanations – the art of the cameraless photograph”. Certainly a different perspective on photography as we know it.

The Salon images were on display – a record number of entries and some very inspiring images. Congratulations to all who received their awards this evening.

Thank you to Brian Harmer of Hutt Camera Club for these images.
