New Zealand Landscape Salon
The Christchurch Photographic Society is inviting photographers to enter their New Zealand landscapes into the New Zealand Landscape Salon. This salon was previously called The Laurie Thomas Landscape Salon which has a rich legacy, spanning 27 years of success.
Entry fees are $28 entitling photographers to enter up to 4 photographs into the Salon. There is a change to payments this year, once registered and logged into the entry platform (at nzlandscapesalon.photo) entrants will be prompted to pay their fee via PayPal before being able to upload their images. If any entrants have difficulties using this PayPal system or uploading photos, please do not hesitate to select Contact NZLS Support from the entry platform.
As per previous years, there is a premium award and the distinctive sculptural trophy, which the winner can keep. This remains the Laurie Thomas Trophy.
The directive to the judging panel underscores a desire to honour photography of New Zealand landscapes that encapsulates an authentic sense of place. While we are open to a creative approach we do encourage pure photography skills.
Entries open on Wednesday, 01 May 2024, and will close on Sunday, 02 June 2024.
Presentation of results will be at 7:30pm Wednesday, 07 August 2024 at CPS. The Convening Judge this year is Annette Johnston FPSNZ
PSNZ Cancellation Policy
Due to the nature of the PSNZ Workshop Series and that the workshops are generally for small groups and often over-subscribed, cancellations can have a significant financial and attendance effect on the workshop, as well as creating a lot of further administration work.
Although we do everything possible to ensure our workshops proceed, sometimes there are things beyond our control.
- PSNZ reserves the right to postpone or cancel a workshop due unforeseen circumstances e.g. facilitator illness, venue access issues, etc. In the event we do cancel a planned workshop, we will attempt to inform attendees as soon as possible and in most cases you will be given an alternative date to attend or provided with a full refund of the workshop costs.
- If a workshop is postponed, the first right of refusal will be given to those who were already booked on that workshop for the rescheduled workshop.
- Should a workshop fail to attract a required minimum number of attendees to make it viable to run, PSNZ reserves the right to cancel the workshop.
- PSNZ will not accept responsibility for travel and accommodation costs incurred by attendees.
- Attendees may cancel their booking if they give 60 days’ notice prior to the commencement of their workshop and receive a full refund less a $20 administration fee.
- If attendees give less than 60 days’ notice, then we will do our best to fill your place from the waitlist. If we are able to do this, we will refund your fee less a $20 administration fee. Otherwise no refund will be made.
- PSNZ may give a full refund if there are exceptional circumstances involved in a person not being able to attend.
