PSNZ Judge Training Workshop (Online via Zoom)

8 November @ 8:00 AM – 9 November @ 5:00 PM
We’re delighted to invite you to the next PSNZ Judge Training Workshop, taking place via Zoom on Saturday–Sunday, 8–9 November 2025.
This is a wonderful opportunity to step behind the scenes and gain insight into the judge accreditation process—what it takes to become a PSNZ-accredited judge, and what accredited judges look for when evaluating salon entries. You’ll develop the skills to view images critically, provide constructive feedback, and communicate your assessments clearly and confidently.
Led by experienced mentors Neil Gordon APSNZ and Judy Stokes APSNZ, the workshop runs online from 9:45 am (for a 10:00 am start) each day, concluding around 4:00 pm. Over two immersive days you’ll explore judging principles, assessment criteria, and real-world examples—all in a supportive learning environment.
Workshop Details
• Cost:
$50 for PSNZ financial members
$75 for members of PSNZ-affiliated clubs (non-PSNZ)
Free (subject to availability) for currently accredited judges seeking a refresher
• Priority: Early registration priority is given to PSNZ members who hold an Honours distinction. If places need to be reallocated, you’ll receive a full refund—though this hasn’t been necessary to date.
• Bonus: If you complete the training and subsequently gain accreditation as a judge, you’ll receive a $25 refund upon accreditation.
Spaces are limited to 20 participants—secure your place early.
We’re grateful to Leica NZ for their ongoing support of the PSNZ Judge Training Programme.
Looking ahead, we hope to hold two in-person workshops in 2026—one in the North Island and one in the South Island—plus another Zoom workshop later in the year. More details in due course.
PSNZ Cancellation Policy
Due to the nature of the PSNZ Workshop Series and that the workshops are generally for small groups and often over-subscribed, cancellations can have a significant financial and attendance effect on the workshop, as well as creating a lot of further administration work.
Although we do everything possible to ensure our workshops proceed, sometimes there are things beyond our control. We strongly advise members to take out the low-cost travel insurance ($20) that Air NZ offer to cover non-cancellable costs such as airfares and accommodation) or to use motels that don’t require advance payment.
- PSNZ reserves the right to postpone or cancel a workshop due unforeseen circumstances e.g. facilitator illness, venue access issues, etc. In the event we do cancel a planned workshop, we will attempt to inform attendees as soon as possible and in most cases you will be given an alternative date to attend or provided with a full refund of the workshop costs.
- If a workshop is postponed, the first right of refusal will be given to those who were already booked on that workshop for the rescheduled workshop.
- Should a workshop fail to attract a required minimum number of attendees to make it viable to run, PSNZ reserves the right to cancel the workshop.
- PSNZ will not accept responsibility for travel and accommodation costs incurred by attendees.
- Attendees booked for in-person workshops may cancel their booking if they give 60 days’ notice prior to the commencement of their workshop and receive a full refund less a $20 administration fee; or where less than 60 days notice is given then we will do our best to fill your place from the waitlist. If we are able to do this, we will refund your fee less a $20 administration fee. Otherwise no refund will be made.
- FOR ONLINE WORKSHOPS – Your registration is final and no refunds will be made unless the workshop cannot proceed.
