PSNZ Conventions are so popular these days, that we thought you should have plenty of notice about the PSNZ Central Regional Convention for 2014.
Put the dates of 7-9 November 2014 in your diary now. That’s when the Hutt Camera Club are hosting it. An awesome venue has been secured for the weekend, and has accommodation on site for everyone from bunk rooms to motel units. The entire complex has recently been upgraded, yet the prices are still extremely reasonable so the organisers are sure they can create a great ‘Community’ sense among convention attendees. The venue is also camper van friendly so if you want to incorporate the convention into other travel you can do so easily!
The programme has yet to be set. However, you can be assured of a weekend of photographic fun, interesting speakers, workshops and field trips with amazing photographic opportunities. We are not sure yet, but Wellington may even turn on a Fireworks display on the Saturday night!
A website will be set up early in the New Year with more information, and an approximate date for registrations to open. We’ll post more information about it then.
PSNZ 62nd National Convention Workshops and Field Trips
As advised earlier, Workshops and some Field Trips are full or filling fast. So the Convention Organizing Committee has organised some additions:
Canon Full Frame lit by CRK (WS10) has been relocated to the Vintage Car Club within Brayshaw Park where there are many beautiful old cars lovingly restored and ready to be photographed with or without occupants. The rest of Brayshaw Park has many interesting historical displays, and Simon Woolf has agreed to lead photography throughout the Park. Small groups will rotate through Canon/CRK.
There is now an Advanced Photoshop “Jam” session Mini Workshop (WS3) on Thursday afternoon.
An additional Field Trip FT6 is scheduled for Saturday April 26th to Lochmara Bay and Lodge in the Marlborough Sounds. This will be led by Sally Mason. There’s lots to see and do at Lochmara – a favourite destination in the Sounds.
Check out all the details on the Colours of Marlborough website.

Canon Online Deadline
Entries for the last round of Canon Online for this year are due by 25 December 2013. You can email one digital image entry (max of 1620 by 1080 pixels) to the Canon Online Coordinator, Sally Phillips. She puts a lot of work into this for the rest of the year, so please allow Sally to have plenty of time to celebrate Christmas too, and get your entries in well before Christmas Day.
On that note – best wishes from PSNZ for a happy and safe Christmas, with wonderful images.
