PSNZ’s Newly Designed Website Unveiled

The Photographic Society is delighted to advise members that the newly designed website is now ready for viewing.

The new website has been an almost 12-month project that today culminates with a ‘fresh, modern design’ that complements the recent rebranding of the Society’s newsletter NZ Camera Talk.

This site redevelopment is stage one of the project to update the society’s web presence and the new site boasts some exciting new features.

The site has a fresh, clean and modern look and feel.  It is easier and more user friendly for members to navigate and the content is grouped in a more logical order.

The entire content of the former PSNZ site has been carefully reviewed and edited, or rewritten to keep it concise and relevant. We have changed some of the titles or headings from the previous website to maintain the consistency used by other photographic Society sites around the world.

There is a dedicated ‘Members Login’ area which contains information relevant to members only.  This will be accessed by simply clicking on Member Login – and using your database email address and password.  Once logged in members will see a new menu below the Member Login button when you hover over it.

The Member Login pages contain information, for example on the Accredited Judge Program, NZ Camera Talk, a new online Canon Online Submission form; Services; Resources; and a permanent NZ Camera Submissions form for 2017 publications and beyond.

While the changeover for the new website has commenced, it may take some hours to complete.  If you cannot access it immediately, you may need to refresh your browser. (Use the Ctrl key together with the F5 key on your keyboard for a good refresh).

The new site will be updated frequently with news and activities; the calendar maintained so that as many PSNZ and affiliated club activities are listed on the calendar with links to the clubs’ websites.

Stage two of the site will offer dedicated websites for the Regional and National conventions.  These will allow hosting clubs to avoid reinventing the wheel, year after year. Other improvements planned for stage two will improve performance and integration with the database.

PSNZ President Murry Cave expressed his delight at the new website, saying while the previous website was only six years old, technology has changed drastically in that time, and the Society needed a faster, fresher and more responsive site to meet the demands of membership needs.

“The result of this redevelopment is a website that will be easy to use, effective and lasts the distance.”
