Keynote Speaker – Antonia Steeg
Come and hear this vibrant, intrepid young woman who has travelled many thousands of kilometres in our rugged high country to capture the material for her book “High Country NZ”. Antonia learnt her craft in her native Germany following in the footsteps of her father who was a professional photographer. After his early death Antonia took over his dark room and taught herself everything she knows. She is at one with animals and high country people. As well as telling us about her work and giving us an insight into how to go about capturing images her way she will be hands on to help us all out at the Field Trip.
Our field trip is shaping up to be a real high country experience for you all. I am sure there will be something for everyone. Amazing landscapes, people in the landscape, llamas, horses and riders, dogs, blade shearing of merino sheep, spinning of alpaca and merino wool. And as if that isn’t enough, you will have the opportunity to purchase garments crafted from the fibres off the Station.
