Convention First Morning

The first morning has been off to a great start. I understand there was a glorious Wellington sunrise for the early morning shoot.

We’ve had the formal opening of Natex, and then an inspiring talk by Pete Dobré including fascinating imagery of a once-in-30 year event of Pelicans breeding at Lake Eyre.

We all learned a new meeting for PO.  Pete uses it for “Photographic Orgasm” when he captures nature in its glory, particularly the skies.  But it equally applies to Pete himself, as Passionate and Optimistic. We’re fortunate to get to hear him twice more – at another talk on Saturday afternoon, and then a workshop on time-lapse photography.

Morning tea was an opportunity to check out the honours sets images as well as Natex and the trade stands. We are now listening to a really interesting talk from Norm Heke about his photography for Te Papa.
