Convention delegates should get set for an evening of rollicking rock ’n’ roll fun following the formalities at the 2017 CR Kennedy Honours Banquet on Saturday, April 8, 2017.
The theme for this year’s function is the 1964 Elvis and Ann-Margret movie Viva Las Vegas. Bursting with popular Elvis songs, this movie became an icon of its time and remains Elvis’ biggest-selling hit on DVD.
Be prepared to get into the swing of the rock ‘n’ roll that jolted the American mainstream in the 1950s and beyond, with music and entertainment that will get your feet tapping in short order.
So ladies, break out the petticoats and bouffant hairdos. Guys, channel your inner rockabilly or retro suave. The best-dressed revelers may be rewarded with fabulous prizes from our sponsors.
While dressing in theme is optional, a simple pair of Elvis aviators or cat’s-eye sunglasses can be transformative and can be all it takes to embrace the theme and get into the mood of the evening.
So come on all you Hound Dogs and Jail Birds, shrug off those GI Blues, don your blue suede shoes, and don’t be cruel…..let’s get all shook up for a rockin’ good time.
