Dunedin is fast becoming the street art capital of New Zealand, boasting some incredible pieces commissioned from both international and local artists. A lot of the work has been concentrated on previously rundown spaces in the old commercial hub of the city, in an effort to revive and beautify the area.
You may need to venture down the odd alleyway, but most of the work is clearly visible from the street. The biggest concentration of work is in the Vogel St area a short 15-20 minute walk from the convention venue. Here you will find many restored heritage buildings and one of Dunedin’s favourite cafes, Vogel St. Kitchen. A voucher for coffee and cake at Vogel St Kitchen is included for participants on these field trips and that voucher will be valid until the end of Sunday.
The Friday field trip will be accompanied by convention keynote speaker Steve Gosling who will be on hand to answer your questions and to inspire your photography. On the Saturday field trip Nikon representatives will join participants with a selection of the latest Nikon equipment for you to try.
To add a little bit more excitement to each field trip, we are running a competition that is a little different each day. As well as finding the mapped out artworks, there will be a competition that will ask you to crack the clues to find some extra artworks. Each day’s competition is unique and participants will go in to a draw to win a great prize.
