Seven weeks until we host the APIX PSNZ Southern Regional! We are looking forward to putting on a great weekend for you all. Canterbury has had a very mild winter which has been great, and we will try and make sure we have lovely weather in October – but can’t promise J! Great to have a steady flow of registrations coming in – don’t miss out! !

I’m just off the phone from Richard Loader catching up on the closing of the Salon on Saturday. Folks at the Rangiora Photographic Society are very happy with the entries and are receiving great feedback about the online digital entry system they developed. There is a tremendous amount of work which goes on behind the scenes! We look forward to seeing the images at the Regional.

Bevan Tullett, along with his lovely wife Marylyn, called in during the week. Bevan is looking forward to sharing with you the adventures of their nomadic life on the road exploring the south island. Most of you will know Bevan, if not you will feel like you have known him forever when you meet him. Bevan is an award winning natural history and landscape photographer who has a wealth of knowledge to share. Bevan will be leading a field trip on Saturday morning as well as speaking on Sunday morning.

Spring has definitely sprung down here; our city deserves its name as the garden city, Hagley Park certainly shows this during all seasons with spring particularly gorgeous. To reinforce the point our dinner theme is to be “Spring is in the Air”.

In October there is plenty going on in our area both before and after the convention.
