Terms and Conditions of Joining/Renewing Online

By proceeding, you acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions:

    • Consent to Membership: By applying to join, or by renewing membership with the Society, each person named consents to becoming a member under Section 76 of the Incorporated Societies Act 2022
    • Purpose of Information: The Society will retain the information you have entered for the Society’s use only. This information will not be provided to third parties outside the Society and its members
    • Information Accuracy: If necessary, the Society reserves the right to verify the accuracy of the information you provide during the application process
    • Unique Email Requirement: Each membership must be associated with a unique email address for registration and communication purposes
    • Data Storage: Your personal information, including full name and contact details, is securely stored in an online database managed by Knack
    • Member Access: Current members, when logged in, can view the names and contact details of other members
    • Society Officials' Access: Authorized officers, including database administrators, have access to member details as necessary for communication, distribution of materials, and database management. Access is role-based, ensuring only users with appropriate permissions can view specific information
    • Data Retention:
      • Active Members: Your full details are retained for the duration of your membership
      • Former Members: Upon cessation of membership, your full name and the date of cessation is retained for seven years, in compliance with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022
    • Security Measures: Knack employs secure user logins, encryption, and reliable hosting to protect your information
    • Financial Information: The database records the date and amount of subscription payments; however, it does not store any credit card details. All credit card payments are securely processed through the Society's chosen payment provider

Payment Options

  • Payment can be made by Credit card using Paypal (Visa or MasterCard only), or Direct Credit to the Society’s Bank Account.
  • Preferred payment method is by Paypal/Credit Card which will give you immediate access to the ‘Member Area’ of the Society’s website and other membership benefits. If you pay by direct banking the process will take slightly longer.
  • The Society does not retain your credit card details.
  • If you think you have been debited incorrectly for your subscription, require a refund or a GST Tax Invoice/Receipt of your payment, please contact the Treasurer –  treasurer@photography.org.nz

Notes on renewing membership

  • You must be logged into the Society’s Database in order to renew your existing PSNZ membership and to check the details held in the database about you.
  • Membership renewal is due annually.
  • Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of joining.
  • The welcome email is confirmation that your payment has been received and processed into the database.
  • For members who joined before September 2018, the renewal anniversary date remains as the first of January each year.
  • Please note that if the renewal subscription is not paid within 30 days after your anniversary date your subscription is suspended and as a consequence you will have limited access to membership services. If your subscription remains unpaid after 60 days your membership is cancelled.  Membership can be reinstated by completing the ‘Become a PSNZ Member’ process.
