Closure of Earlybird Registration is fast approaching – just 23 days to go to the end of February! There are still plenty of events to choose from, but do not leave your registration to the last minute as Field Trips and Workshops will soon fill up during February. Take a look at the Convention Website www.coloursofmarlborough.org.nz as there are changes and additions to the programme.
Notable is the new Field Trip to Lochmara (FT6). Lochmara is a great location in the Marlborough Sounds for diverse photography, bush walks, art trails, kayaking, kakariki breeding centre and all sorts of other creatures which they nurture including the resident but wild shag which knows how to show off. Of course, there will also be time for a bit of relaxation with everything laid on for your enjoyment. Sally Mason will be there to guide you so you do not miss out on things of particular interest to you.
Among the Workshops is a very special one (WS15) put on by Simon Woolf in the Marlborough Sounds at Anakiwa, Outward Bound Centre. There is an early start from Blenheim at 6.30 a.m. on Saturday so that you can catch all the activities which are full on and non-stop. Simon will be there to greet you and lead the workshop and it is a great opportunity for those keen to create and catch action shots on location – a very picturesque one at that! Outward Bound is providing refreshments to keep you going. The Convention Organising Committee is extremely grateful to Simon Woolf and to Outward Bound for hosting this opportunity.
Also, there are now Workshops on High Speed Photography, Triptychs, and a Photoshop “Jam” session where anything and everything can be discussed.
So, come and enjoy Marlborough at its best in autumn. It will be frenetic this year as there is a bumper crop of grapes to harvest.
