The Southern Regional kicks off next week – don’t forget to register….
Established in 1923 the RNZAF has an interesting and varied history encompassing conflict, search and rescue, and transportation. This is portrayed brilliantly in the museum by means of photographs, movies, inter-active displays, dioramas, models and real aircraft. Workshops there are dedicated to restoring historic aircraft, in some cases to flyable condition. A strong theme is the recognition of those who gave their lives “for our tomorrows”.
Photographic opportunities include easy opportunities and challenges. Tripods may be helpful but are not essential.
Frank Green and Paul Furburough will lead this field trip. Frank was named after his uncle, who is commemorated on the memorial wall, and has had a life-long interest in aviation. Both will be happy to help you to envisage and realise interesting images.
